Gary Shulman is the country’s foremost QDRO expert and author ofQualified Domestic Relations Order Handbook, 3rd Edition, the premier QDRO desk reference for family law attorneys and plan administrators. Mr. Shulman received his B.S. degree in mathematics and statistics from The Ohio State University and his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of law. He has more than three decades of top-tier experience in the benefits and actuarial field. As an ERISA attorney and co-owner of QDRO Consultants Co., located in Medina, Ohio, Gary’s company is the national leader in drafting QDROs for family law attorneys and administering & qualifying QDROs for corporations, including many Fortune 500 companies. A frequent lecturer at judicial colleges and bar associations throughout the country, Mr. Shulman has also authored many legal treatises, articles and texts on the issues of dividing pensions in divorce. His consulting and legal background makes him uniquely qualified to explain QDRO issues from the perspective of plan participants, alternate payees and plan sponsors. Mr. Shulman and his wife Christine, who have three grown children, live on a horse farm in beautiful Novelty, Ohio.
